EARTH DAY MESSAGE: All Life Matters

This Earth Day, we’re reflecting on what 11 months of work across 37 fire‑impacted sites (now up to 78) in Altadena have made unmistakably clear: when we restore the full Soil Food Web, not just bacteria and fungi, but the entire biological community, nature responds with extraordinary power.

Each site was pre‑tested for baseline biological and chemical conditions, treated with a complete suite of Soil Food Web microbes including fungi, and then post‑tested to measure change. The results speak for themselves. When we return biological diversity to the soil, the soil remembers how to heal.

Our approach is holistic because the land itself is holistic. Recovery depends on every player: the organisms below ground, the plants that bridge soil and sky, the animals that shape ecosystems, and the people who create the conditions for life to flourish. Community matters. Collaboration matters. And so does honoring every member of the living system, seen and unseen.

On this day dedicated to the Earth, we acknowledge all kingdoms: animals, plants, fungi, humans, and the vast microbial world beneath our feet. None of us, no single person, no single plant, no single microorganism—can restore a landscape alone. Healing happens when the whole system is supported.

Earth Day invites us to zoom out, to look not just at what’s in front of us but from a 30‑ or even 301‑foot perspective. When we do, we see the patterns, the relationships, and the pathways that make true, lasting recovery possible.

Today, we honor the interconnectedness of all life. And we recommit to fostering the conditions that allow every part of the system, from microbes to humans, to thrive.
